Eyes on the Keys: Visual-Motor Integration in Piano Lessons
Visual-motor integration refers to the smooth teamwork between what we see and what our hands do. Think of it as your eyes sending information to your brain, and your brain sending it to your hands.
Visual-motor integration is sometimes called hand-eye coordination.
Piano students need to be able to quickly scan notes on the staff, translate that information into finger movements, and then land on the correct keys. There’s a lot going on at once!
