Part 2: 2006
Once again, a young mom was invited to a friend’s Discovery Toys party. She too was a teacher at heart and taking care of two small children. Once again, I was there. But this time I was that mom.
I was invited to the home party, and I knew exactly what I wanted to order. I just wasn’t sure if it was still being made.
For years, I was rocking my babies to sleep each night with the songs from my childhood stuck in my head. There was one song in particular that I mostly remembered, but I wasn’t sure of all the words. “I Love You So Much”
When I looked into it, I found out they DID still make it. “Sounds Like Fun” by Barbara Milne. Except now it was a CD.
In addition to the Barbara Milne album, there were so many toys I wanted. Thomas’s birthday was coming up and I found the perfect toy I wanted for him. The Castle Marbleworks!
I decided to host my own party to get the discount. My friends came, and they ordered toys. I got half-price and free toys, and Thomas had a happy birthday.
Ruth could tell how much I loved the toys and asked me then if I wanted to become a consultant myself and I said … maybe …one day.
