My mom, ever a teacher, attended a Discovery Toys party. My baby brother was the intended recipient of the Measure Up Cups, but as a five-year-old, I also played with them. Read about this here.
I remember my mom’s attempts to guide me through counting. I’m not sure if I fully cooperated, but I do remember building towering structures, only to topple them. Those moments of play left a lasting impression.
Decades later, these sturdy cups have held up! When my own daughter, Molly, was an infant, I rediscovered them, and she too enjoyed their endless possibilities.
Each cup bears the imprint of a different animal inspiring their use in Play-Doh creations. I enjoyed them as bath toys, as props for my pony adventures, and even as miniature dishes for my dolls.
It’s heartwarming to know that Discovery Toys continues to offer this same product. The Measure Up Cups are a reminder of the timelessness of simple, open-ended play, and I’m grateful for the joy they brought to my childhood and continue to bring to children today.
