What Is Early Intervention?

The Early Intervention (EI) Program is a federal grant program run by individual states under Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act that works with children ages 0-3. Early Intervention targets children who have a delay in cognitive, social, communication, physical, or self-care skills or who are diagnosed with a condition that puts them at risk for developing delays.
